About Us

Company

Sock and Buskin Marketing and PR was established in 2023, but our marketing journey started way before that.

Starting in the World Superbikes and British Superbikes paddock, we worked with small teams and individual racers to build their public presence and ensure it was noticeable for the right reasons, as well as working on their online profiles to gain attention from sponsors and build a loyal fanbase. From there, we branched out into other business sectors to start managing and publicising events, as well as working within the music, catering and aviation industries to build brands and online profiles for a variety of businesses. Most recently, we’ve entered into the construction sector where we have organised and hosted events, built brands and helped companies work towards their social value goals.

Our aim is to help new and smaller enterprises reach their full potential through creative social media campaigns and event hosting. We like to challenge ourselves and our clients to come up with new and engaging ideas, and strive to meet any goal that our clients want to achieve – however, we are still realistic with this and will always give honest feedback to any project proposal, even if that means us not gaining your business. This is how we guarantee that your trust won’t be misplaced through working with us.

Community wise, we believe that it’s also important to give back to good causes. We will always be on hand to give free advice to charities or fundraising events, and often take time to help out with charitable causes to do our part in creating a better future for all.

About Laura...

Laura has been working within the marketing and journalism industry for over fifteen years. Starting out as an intern for a magazine covering World Superbikes, she built her knowledge in social media management as the platforms were started and learnt how to use them as their popularity started to grow. As her passion for marketing grew, she was approached by more businesses and individuals to help them gain traction online and, as a practiced journalist, coach them for dealing with media coverage. In 2023, she took the plunge and founded Sock and Buskin Marketing and PR after working as Head of Marketing for a construction company.

Within both her professional and personal life, Laura is a strong believer that everybody should be treated with kindness. She prides herself on loyalty and equality and aims to be approachable and honest in all of her interactions.

“Nothing makes me happier than seeing people thrive in a career they’ve always dreamt of being in. I’ve spent a long time learning how to use social media platforms and developed marketing techniques to help businesses create an online presence that best suits their company ethos. I’m known for thinking creatively and have always believed that honesty is the best policy, and if I’ve not thought that something is achievable, I won’t agree to do it.”

Laura-Bradley

To explain our name, we first have to explain that we lost a very dear friend Kemal at the end of 2023. He went into hospital as Laura left her job, where the two of them had been working together for a year and a half.

However, their friendship was established many years before working together and there were lots of fond memories made during that time. Many of those memories came from the theatre, as he was an incredible performer and they had appeared in shows alongside each other, as well as seeing many productions together.

When the time came for Laura to start the business, she had just found out that he wasn’t going to come out of the hospital and wanted to bring him with her into this next chapter in some form. After much deliberation, the thought popped into her head:

“What are the names of those theatrical masks?”

And, thus, Sock and Buskin Marketing and PR was born!

Our company motto is: “Don’t dream it, do it” – because of those special people who taught us not to wait around for dreams to come true, but to work hard to make them your reality.

We also wanted to create a tagline that summarised our ‘outside of the box’ way of thinking. Kemal was also a drag performer known as ‘Vanity Flair’, and so we found ‘marketing with a dramatic flair’ to be a fitting description of what we do!

This one’s for you, Kem.
